Cave Wonders: Stalagmites, Draperies & Halls

Inside Huanglong, light and temperature shift at once. Long calcium deposits form stalagmites, columns, draperies, and curtains in varied shapes—guides often use vivid nicknames. Halls rise and widen along boardwalks and steps. Wear non-slip shoes, use handrails, and do not touch formations—protect the cave and yourself.

Humidity fogs camera and phone lenses; wait a moment before shooting. Some zones are dim—follow group lights and signs. For companions with limited mobility, ask about easier options and keep visits to a comfortable length.

Underground River & Rainy-Day Pairing

Beyond static stone, the underground river adds motion. When cave boats run, lights and walls reflect on the water in a quiet, surreal stretch—often short, yet unforgettable. Follow on-site schedules; peak season may mean queues.
