Stay near Wulingyuan to cut transfers; enter early in peak season when elevators/cableways queue longer.
Must-see spots
Yuanjiajie + Bailong Elevator
The elevator lifts you near viewpoints fast—Hallelujah Mountain and related platforms are photo favorites. Wait out mist; clearing skies after rain are often stunning.
Tianzi Mountain
West Sea Peak Forest and Imperial Brush Peak deliver the “sea of peaks” view, often same-day with Yuanjiajie. Height is how you feel the density and vertical drama of the sandstone pillars.
Golden Whip Stream / Huangshizhai: the stream is a gentle walk; Huangshizhai overlooks another side of the peaks. Choose one if energy is limited and split from Yuanjiajie.
Weather & clothing
Humid mountains with big temp swings—non-slip shoes and a light jacket are standard. Summer: rain + bugs; winter: warmth + traction. Heavy rain makes trails slick—flex the day.
Suggested itineraries
One-day highlights: Bailong up → Yuanjiajie → Tianzi viewpoints → cableway or road down.
Two-day deeper: D1 Yuanjiajie + Tianzi; D2 Golden Whip Stream + Huangshizhai (or Ten-Mile Gallery).
